MANHART MH5 900E: More than 900 hp in the plug-in hybrid M5

727 hp, 1,000 Nm – figures that one inevitably associates with an uncompromising super sports car: flat, aggressively designed, perhaps even with a mid-engine. But far from it: Behind these impressive figures lies no exotic coupe, but the new BMW M5 of the G9x generation – a powerful sedan or station wagon in the five-meter class. The M5's power is provided by a plug in hybrid system consisting of the 4.4 litre S68 twin turbo V8 and an electric motor. For all M5 drivers who desire even more power – perhaps also in view of the hybrid's heavy weight – we at MANHART automotive now present just the right solution: the MH5 900E.

As the new figures suggest, our BMW specialists have given the sedan a substantial performance boost: 910 hp and 1,200 Nm are now listed in the spec sheet. This was achieved with the help of a MANHART Turbo Upgrade in conjunction with the MHtronik powerbox. A MANHART stainless steel exhaust system with valve function and four matte black 115 mm tailpipe trims as well as MANHART Race Downpipes were also installed. The latter, however, do not have TÜV approval, so they are only intended for export. The MH5 900E counters the sheer unbridled power of its engine with appropriate deceleration thanks to its factory fitted carbon ceramic brake system. The brake system can even be customized upon request. As part of our MANHART suspension optimization, we offer a choice of MANHART lowering springs by H&R or a MANHART Variant 4 coilover kit by KW Suspensions.

This not only optimizes driving dynamics, but the resulting lowering of the vehicle is also an essential component of visual refinement. The wheels are perfectly aligned with the fender edges. These are the proven MANHART Concave One Forged rims in 10.5x22 and 11.5x22 inches with 295/30 and 315/30 tires. While the finish on the presented example is classic satin black, custom colors are also available. Alternatively, the MANHART Concave One rims in 10.5x21 and 11.5x22 inches with 285/35 and 305/30 tires are also available for the MH5 900E.

At MANHART, we equipped the body with an entire armada of our own carbon add-on parts. The spoiler lip and the canards at the front and at the rear a roof spoiler, the spoiler on the trunk lid, the diffuser, and the side skirts are all made of the popular lightweight material. And last but not least, our signature MANHART decal kit is also absolutely obligatory: Its decorative stripes and lettering extend across the black body in champagne colour.

The interior of the MH5 900E was refined with floor mats featuring embroidered MANHART lettering. A MANHART Alcantara headliner was also added.
